8:00am Category: Volunteer Opportunities[8:00am] First Aid, CPR, and AED Training
Description:
NEW! This course has been revised and updated by the American Red Cross and is now a 2-year certification for First Aid, CPR and AED. This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to act in an emergency until professional medical help arrives. You will learn and practice adult, child and infant CPR and first aid skills. You will also learn how to administer an Automated External Defibrillator. This training is REQUIRED for one adult per troop when participating in activities away from meeting site. Who: Adults who will be serving as the trained first-aider and/or CPR certified adult for the troop/group. Cost: $35.50 (includes book, certification card, skills booklet and bandage kit) OR $27 (includes certification card, skills booklet and bandage kit). Additional $5 for non-Girl Scouts. Financial assistance is available. Bring: Sack lunch and drink. Dress comfortably. Min/Max: 6/20 Deadline: Registration closes two (2) weeks prior to the day of the training. Note: Registration fee(s) for these courses or an application for financial assistance MUST accompany the registration. Deadline to register is 1/24/12

Description:
Try out Bodypump! It's an easy, fun and challenging full body workout, mixing aerobic exercise with weight training. You will target all your major muscle groups using weights and movement choreographed to music pumped up just for the class. Description:
THIS PROGRAM IS NOW FULL & CLOSED. Girl Scout Cadettes, you have air and Brownies have water! Earn the WOW Leader in Action Badge (one of the requirements for completing Program Aide award) while learning about the Wonders of Water and teaching that appreciation of all things aquatic to Brownies. Description:
Learn all the sewing basics including 3 different hand stitches, how to use a sewing machine, make straight and curved stitches, sew on appliques using the machine, add hand embroidery designs, sew on buttons and attach handles too! You will make a pillow and a wish bag over 3 sessions. Limit adults to Girl Scout ratios. Description:
Earn the first step of the Inventor Brownie Badge after looking at Karel Appel's Cats and other animal imagery from the museum's art collection. We will construct our own imaginary creatures using mixed media such as construction paper and photos & pictures from magazines. Description:

Work with some Cadettes earning their Leader in Action award as you do water sampling, look at water creatures and play with some water experiments as you work toward your LOVE Water award (not included).
