12:00am Category: Junior Programs[12:00am] Snooze at the Zoo - Zooper Zoos (cont.)
Description:
Have you ever wondered how Zookeepers take care of the animals? Do you think the Zoo helps animals in the wild? Would you like to help the animals of the Saint Louis Zoo and animals like them in the wild, but don't know what to do? Come to Snooze at the Zoo and discover the answers to these questions plus sleep at the Zoo! Girl Scouts and adult leaders will simulate keeper duties in a keeper care relay, participants will try diagnosing animals when they become a Snooze veterinarian, put on some Safari gear and try your hand at simulated field research! Overnight evening activities will include a live animal encounter, rotations through exciting activities, an evening pizza snack (with a soft drink), and a night hike around Zoo grounds, which includes a flashlight tour of the herpetarium. The morning portion of the overnight adventure includes a continental breakfast, a morning stroll around Zoo grounds to see the animals wakeup, a souvenir Zoo patch and glow-in-the-dark overnight cup! Description:
Hurray for Hip Hop! Girls will learn basic stretching techniques and then a simple hip hop routine. Brownies be sure and practice your routine for your family to complete your Dancer Badge. Description:
The S.E.L.F. (Saturday Enrichment Learning Fairs) are held from 10:00am - 2:00pm. with three 1-hour sessions (10am, 11am, 1pm). The noon session is open for lunch and networking. Food is not provided, but you are welcome to bring a sack lunch. These events are designed to help leaders with all aspects of the troop. The PB&J Workshop is featured to make sure that you are on track to fully utilize the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and all that it has to offer girls. We know there is a lot more to leading a troop, so we have crafted a well-rounded variety of courses to make leaders more comfortable in this role. The registration deadline is Thursday, October 31.
