Half-Marathon, 5K Run/Walk & Kids’ 1-Mile Fun Run
Join Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois for the Thin Mint Sprint – and with every step you take, you’ll help a girl get one step closer to pursuing her dreams!

Prizes will be awarded to the top three females and males in each of the following groups for the 5K and Half: 6-12, 13-18, 19-29, 30-40, 41-50, 51-60, and 60+

Please note - due to construction on the Madison County Trails, the route for the Half Marathon will be an out-and-back for 2013. The route will take you through the beautiful SIUE campus and on the MCT trail system. The route is flat and well shaded. Race map coming soon.
Race Fees (based on registration deadlines)
5K race fee includes: race entry and event t-shirt. Half-marathon race fee includes: race entry, moisture wicking event shirt and medal. Kids’ 1-mile race includes: race entry, participation ribbon and patch. Additional moisture wicking race shirts can be purchased for a donation of $20.
5K and half-marathon runners are encouraged to pick up their race packets at GSSI Service Centers in Glen Carbon or Mt. Vernon the week leading up to the race, if possible.
Shirts not guaranteed after May 14, 2013. All entry fees are non-refundable.
Participation is limited to the first 400 5K runners and 120 Half-Marathon runners who register. Registration will not be available the day of the race.
Rooms are available at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Glen Carbon on Friday, May 31, 2013 at a special Thin Mint rate of $95. Contact the hotel at 618.589.5000 and ask for the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois block by April 30, 2013 to secure this rate.

Your help is needed to make this year’s event another success! GSSI is currently looking for volunteers to serve in a variety of roles, including crossing guards, water station attendants and registration coordinators. Opportunities are available for all ages and are perfect for Girl Scout Troops looking to volunteer together.
