Operation: Sweet Treats
GSSI's Gift of Caring program is a wonderful option to offer to customers who do not want to purchase cookies because they are on restricted diets or have set New Year’s resolutions.
The 2018 Gift of Caring program is Operation: Sweet Treats, which allows customers to donate Girl Scout Cookies to members of the U.S. military.
Donations to Operation: Sweet Treats can be made from January 6 to March 18 through every stage of the Girl Scout Cookie Program. Troops will collect the money for these orders, but will not receive cookies, as they will be in our virtual warehouse. Once cookie season is over, GSSI will send all of the donated cookies to H.E.R.O.E.S. Care in Fenton, MO, which supports area U.S. military members before, during and after deployment.
Another way to participate in Operation: Sweet Treats is through the Business Gift of Caring program. Now in its fourth year, this program allows Girl Scouts to go to any local business owner and ask if they would like to be a cookie sponsor. Girl Scouts who secure a business sponsor will get the credit for selling those cookies, and the troop will receive the proceeds from that cookie sponsorship as well!
To help us show even more support to our U.S. military heroes through our Gift of Caring Program, we've launched the "Bears for Cares" campaign. Every girl that has 65 or more boxes of Girl Scout Cookies donated through their initial order card, Digital Cookie or Business Gift of Caring is eligible to win one of five new Girl Scout S'mores Build-A-Bears! These bears are so new that we don't even have photos yet!
Donations to GSSI's Gift of Caring Program can be made through March 18. Once cookie season is over, GSSI will send all donated cookies to H.E.R.O.E.S. Care, a nonprofit in Fenton, MO that supports area U.S. military members - including those from southern Illinois - before, during and after deployment.
