Giving Tuesday Gives Community a Voice

Giving Tuesday News Release Image

Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois (GSSI) kicks off its 2017 Giving Tuesday campaign with a twist; with each donation, donors will have the chance to decide what Girl Scout program their dollars go towards. Giving Tuesday is scheduled for November 28, 2017.

When a donation is made, the donor will be able to choose between three categories of giving: STEM, Outdoor Experience, and Outreach.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) is an extensive program that allows girls to participate in robotics competitions, build bridges, discover science & technology and explore opportunities in non-traditional fields to uncover their full potential.

Outdoor Experience gives girls the opportunity to grow, explore and have fun outdoors.

Finally, the Girl Scout Outreach program exists to help bring Girl Scout programs to girls in underserved areas.

GSSI empowers those who have a personal connection to Girl Scouts to donate and share how one of these programs has positively impacted them.

GSSI is also extremely excited to announce that CompuType IT Solutions has generously decided to match all Giving Tuesday donations, up to $1,500. If you know anyone who is interested in making a match donation for GSSI’s Giving Tuesday campaign, please have them contact Kelly Lu Holder at kholder@gsofsi.org or 618-307-3617.
