Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois volunteer Sarah Frederick has been recognized with the GSofSI Spotlight Award. Sarah's nominator had this to say about her:
"Sarah embodies the Girl Scout spirit in every way. She is a dedicated leader of a first grade Daisy troop with limited parent assistance. She is extremely organized and provides an enriching experience for the girls in her troop, but she doesn't stop there.
Sarah is forward thinking, and always helpful. She is active in Service Unit activities and provides much needed assistance to the Service Unit Recruitment Facilitator of Holy Trinity, Nell Hennon. She is always willing to lend an extra hand, she often sees the need for the extra hand before Nell realizes it! This year alone, Sarah has taken on the role of mentor to the newest Daisy Leader at Holy Trinity, offering her time, experience and creativity in order to expand the opportunities of the newest Girl Scouts, without being asked!
Sarah's kindness, friendliness, and helpfulness are an amazing example of the Girl Scout spirit, inspiring all who meet her as well as know her."
The GSofSI Spotlight Award recognizes the incredible service and dedication that our amazing volunteers devote to Girl Scouts' mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Volunteers are nominated by their peers as a way to celebrate their achievements and commitment to the Girl Scout movement.
