Every Girl Depends on Every Family

As parents and guardians, volunteers and leaders, you know firsthand the positive impact of Girl Scouting.  You’ve watched as girls in your life develop the courage to try new things, the confidence to use their voices and the character to live the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

Together we can provide a premier training to girls across southern Illinois.  Together we can build girls of courage, confidence and character by supporting and fostering our girls’ development.  We are once again asking your help to continue providing the best in leadership programming for your Girl Scout and her 14,000 fellow members locally with a gift to Girl Scouts’ of Southern Illinois Family Partnership campaign.

Family Partnership donations stay right here in southern Illinois to support girls in our community.  Did you know that it costs approximately $292 per year to provide the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to each girl?  While product sales and program fees cover much of the cost of Girl Scouting, a gift of…

  • $25 will buy a vest, badges and journey book for one Girl Scout in need;
  • $50 will fulfill the costs of providing Girl Scout training and experiences for one girl for an entire year;
  • $100 will help send a girl to day camp for an entire week;
  • $500 will provide one year’s membership for 33 girls in at-risk, low income neighborhoods; and
  • $1,000 will give a Girl Scout Robotics team the opportunity to compete for the first time

Thank you for giving the girl in your life the opportunity to be a Girl Scout.  Please join the Family Partnership by donating online now (note Family Partnership and your Troop number in the “add special instructions” field), downloading and mailing the donation form or making an additional donation to GSSI during Early Bird Registration this spring.

With your donation of $25 or more, your Girl Scout receives a commemorative Family Partnership patch (pictured above).  All donations received by May 1st will be entered to win tickets to Holiday World or the Southern Illinois Miners.  Donations received by May 1st will also be included in your service unit or troop’s total – the unit or troop that raises the most money will receive a check for 20% of its total funds raised.
