Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois recently recognized excellent adult volunteers at its Annual Meeting and exceptional girl members at its All That Glitters Awards Ceremony - both held on April 28 at Rend Lake College in Ina.
At Annual Meeting, Girl Scouts of the USA and Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois awards for adult volunteers were presented. Christine Lay from Maryville was honored with the GSofSI Heart of Gold Award for her "long-term impact on girls and adults in her community through involvement in Girl Scouting." Karlene Hoefener from O'Fallon received the Thanks Badge for "ongoing commitment, leadership, and service," while Phyllis Croslow from Bridgeport received the Thanks Badge II, which is presented to a previous Thanks Badge Recipient who "has continued to provide exemplary service in a leadership role."
At All That Glitters, Outstanding Graduating Girl Scouts, Gold Award Girl Scouts, Silver Award Girl Scouts, GSofSI Trifecta Award Recipients and GSofSI's Class of 2019 were honored. This year's Outstanding Graduating Girl Scout Scholarship recipients were Jacqueline Simpson from O'Fallon and Cassandra Cambell from Marissa.
