Earning the Girl Scout Gold Award Changed Her Life

SummerAppealPromo_news

Support of Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois helps girls push boundaries and change lives. Take Jordan Linafelter, a new Gold Award Girl Scout from Trenton. After taking on the challenge of educating her peers about prevention of teen suicide, Jordan’s life changed in remarkable ways.

“This project has impacted me in ways I could have never imagined,” Jordan says. “I got to do things I’ve never done before such as conducting interviews and being published in the newspaper.”

It’s hard to imagine giving to Girl Scouts can change a girl’s life. Well, it can. Generous people like you help Girl Scouts gain the courage, confidence and character to make the world a better place.

These are difficult days and we have adapted Girl Scout programs to keep our girls and volunteers safe. In recent months, girls have stocked food pantries, donated Girl Scout cookies to essential medical personnel and made masks. Now, they are standing for social justice. The Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois live our Girl Scout Promise every day, no matter what.

Your donation helps us keep Girl Scouts thriving in all conditions. Thanks to you, we will have more girls like Jordan changing the world and entering the world ready to lead.
