Nikki Bell from O'Fallon, who serves as a volunteer with Service Unit
201 O'Fallon/Shiloh, has received the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois
Volunteer Spotlight Award. This is what her nominator, Debbie
McAuliffe, had to say about her:
"Nikki, along with Troop Leader Cassy Buatte and the girls of Troop 505, quickly transitioned their in-person Daisy Journey day event into an interactive virtual event available to a wider Daisy population! Fourth grade Junior Troop 505 was planning to hold an in-person Daisy Journey Day event focusing on the "Between Earth and Sky" Girl Scout journey, when the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic made that an impossibility. Under the leadership team of Nikki and Cassy, the girls in the troop were able to produce a virtual journey event that was shared not only with the girls registered for the in-person event, but to all the Daisy troops in the Service Unit and beyond! Nikki's assistance and guidance provided this unique and challenging opportunity to become a story of success in the lives of the Girl Scouts in Troop 505. They will remember this accomplishment for many years to come!"
The Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois Volunteer Spotlight Award recognizes the incredible service and dedication that our amazing volunteers devote to Girl Scouts' mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Volunteers are nominated by their peers as a way to celebrate their achievements and commitment to the Girl Scout movement.
