Donna Aaron from Belleville Recognized with Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois Volunteer Spotlight Award

VolunteerSpotlight_SFMC

Donna Aaron from Belleville, who serves as a volunteer in Service Unit 207 Belleville/Swansea, has received the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois Volunteer Spotlight Award. This is what her nominator, Debbie McAuliffe, who is from the neighboring service unit, had to say about her:

"Donna reached out to Service Unit 201 asking to hold a dual service unit event. She organized a St. Clair County Girl Scout Camporee along with her service unit teammate Jodie Herbstritt. This dynamic duo organized a fun filled camping experience including archery and canoeing for the girls and archery certification/training for adult Girl Scout volunteers. This breath of fresh air enabled Girl Scouts from two service units to meet, interact, bond and learn a little something, while also enjoying being outside and camping safely once again after over a year of limited Girl Scout activities. By reaching out to a sister service unit, Donna truly exemplifies the spirit of Girl Scouts and being a sister to every Girl Scout!"

The Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois Volunteer Spotlight Award recognizes the incredible service and dedication that our amazing volunteers devote to Girl Scouts' mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Volunteers are nominated by their peers as a way to celebrate their achievements and commitment to the Girl Scout movement.
