Girl Scouts Leading Ladies presents:

Cookies & Conversations

Join Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois for the second annual casual networking series hosted by GSofSI Alumnae Leading Ladies  honoring regional women of distinction who embody the Girl Scout mission. Reconnect with your Girl Scout sisters, or introduce a newcomer to the leadership experience of Girl Scouts. We are creating a space to share clever conversations promoting courage, confidence and character. Join us in celebration!

We are hosting four events within our service area of 40.5 counties in Southern Illinois to ensure every girl and woman has a place to share the memories and successes of Girl Scouting. This invitation is open to all members of the community. Learn about the bright future of Girl Scouting and discuss how we can empower girls to become powerful community builders. Be a part of the conversation. Share your leadership story and hear the powerful stories of the women we honor.

Even if you can’t make it, there are a number of ways to support the over 10,000 girls and 3,500 adult volunteers Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois serves every day. Click here to make a donation today.

Regional Women of Distinction:

Dr. Candis Isberner | Former Board of Directors

Girl Scouting helped shaped Candis Isberner’s personality, skills, and work ethic. As a child, she learned about the outdoors and camping through her experiences at a Girl Scout camp in her home state of New York. Candis’ parents did not camp, so camping and the outdoors became a real experience for her and her twin sister. Camping, as part of her Girl Scout experience, provided Candis with a great way to learn outside of the classroom. As an adult, Candis became a science educator, teaching in New York, Connecticut, and Canada before moving to Illinois...

Regional Women of Distinction:

Dixie Travelstead | Former Board of Directors

She eventually became a Girl Scout troop leader with Legacy Council Shagbark in 1988 and served on several committees, including Shagbark Council Cookie Drive and Alumni Association...
