In our years as leaders of Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois, girls have never faced more challenging circumstances.
Fortunately, Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois is up to these challenges. For 100 years, we have focused on building community and sisterhood, appreciating everyone’s unique value, and supporting one another through tough times. We continue to be inspired by Girl Scouts who live their values and pull together to give back to their communities and help those in need.
Take third-grader Gretel Ulmer of O’Fallon, pictured above, who received the Girl Scouts’ Medal of Honor for helping save her neighbor’s life. Gretel is one of thousands of Southern Illinois girls who benefit from Girl Scouts’ exceptional leadership programming. You play a part in keeping Girl Scouts accessible to all even during difficult times. Thank you for your past support.
Girl Scouting continues to build girls of courage, confidence and character in 2020. Volunteers and council staff provide girl-led, girl-only programming in the core areas of STEM, the outdoors, life skills, and entrepreneurship. Some troops are meeting in person; others on Zoom. All girls have access to Programs Unleashed, our council-created virtual programs.
We are counting on you to come through for Girl Scouts again this year. Please give to Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois this holiday season to ensure all girls may benefit from the Girl Scouts Leadership Experience. Thank you and Happy Holidays to you and your family.
