Dear Friends of Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois,
To be an essential force in girls’ lives. To give them the courage to explore their ambitions and realize their dreams. To help them build the confidence to become leaders in their communities and in their own lives. And watch them develop the character to make the world a better place. This is why I do what I do, and I invite you to join me.
Ever since I wore my first cotton green and white Girl Scout
uniform, I have whole heartedly believed in what this organization
stands for. Being a leader, believing in God and my country, bettering
my community – these were attributes that drew me to Girl Scouts and
still hold true today. And now, as CEO of this wonderful council, I
get to experience this every day through all of our girl members. When
I see a girl’s face light up as she started a campfire with a single
match or watch a robotics team celebrate a victory at a tournament, I
am reminded of my purpose – to build tomorrow’s leaders.
Girls can achieve so much by being a Girl Scout. But they need
champions in their corner to knock down barriers and cheer them along
every step of the way. When you give to Girl Scouts of Southern
Illinois, you are helping to knock down those barriers. You are
ensuring that every girl who wants to be a Girl Scout has the
opportunity to do so. You are being her champion.
