Girl Scout Experience Fund
The Girl Scout Experience Fund (GSEF) Committee distributes funds as defined by the Board of Directors from the Girl Scout Experience Quasi-Endowment Fund. The fund supports each registered girl member of Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois so that she may experience activities that build courage, confidence, and character.
A Service Unit may apply for a grant to cover no more than 50% of a facility rental, up to a maximum grant of $300. The form should be completed by the SU Manager or SU Treasurer. Each Service Unit is limited to one grant per membership year.
A Troop may apply for one (1) of the following grants, to cover no more than 50% of the cost:
- For a camp/facility rental, up to a maximum grant of $300
- For a troop activity with a per girl cost, with tiered amounts as follows:
- Daisy & Brownie Girl Scouts - maximum grant $25/girl
- Junior & Cadette Girl Scouts - maximum grant $50/girl
- Senior & Ambassador Girl Scouts - maximum grant $100/girl
The form should be completed by the Troop Leader or Troop Treasurer. Each troop is limited to one grant per membership year.
On behalf of an individual girl, a Troop Leader/Treasurer (or SU Manager/Treasurer for a Juliette) may apply for a grant to cover no more than 50% of the cost of a program or activity, up to a maximum grant of $300. Each individual girl is limited to one grant per membership year.
Financial Assistance provides for girls (who are members of Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois council) who could not otherwise attend a council program, camp, or travel opportunity. All requests should be submitted by the caregiver and are kept confidential. To submit a request for assistance, access the appropriate form below. Please note that the Council Programs and Travel application is for programs outside of day camp or resident camp that cost over $20.
