Celebrate Girl Scouts Love State Parks with an unforgettable
overnight campout at Ferne Clyffe State Park! Set up
camp, play games, connect with fellow Girl
Scouts, and enjoy a
delicious camp dinner, dessert over the fire, and stargazing under the
night sky. Make the most of Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend by
spending the night immersed in nature at Ferne Clyffe State Park! This
overnight adventure is the perfect way to connect with nature, meet
fellow Girl Scouts, and experience all the best parts of camping. We
will start by setting up camp before enjoying fun games,
outdoor activities, and a campfire dinner. As the sun sets, gather
around the fire for smores and stories, then look up to take in the
breathtaking night sky during our stargazing session. After a night of
camping, we will wake up early for a light breakfast. Want to keep the
adventure going?: Girl Scouts have the option to join
another group for a guided paddle on the Cache River! This kayak
tour requires a separate registration for September 14th from 10:00
am until 1:00 pm be sure to sign up if you would like to explore the
beautiful bottomland swamp by water. You can choose to paddle before
the campout on Saturday, September 13th or after the campout on
Sunday, September 14th or do both! Please Note: Girl Scouts
that camp with us will need transportation from the campout to Cache
Bayou Outfitters Kayak Rental or vice versa. Council staff may have
limited space to transport some Girl Scouts, but availability is
not guaranteed. Families should plan for transportation if needed.
Adult Volunteer Chaperones:
We are looking for a few adult chaperones to assist with camp setup, meal preparation, and general supervision. If you're interested in joining us, please register as an adult participant. GSofSI Staff Val Blandina will reach out with more details.
