Join us for the Girl Scout Read and Roam Patch Program, running
alongside the Southern Illinois Library Crawl 2026 throughout the
entire month of October! This exciting event invites Girl Scouts to
discover the magic of libraries while earning a special Reading
Patch.
How It Works:
* Visit participating libraries
across Southern Illinois as part of the annual Library Crawl.
*
Explore library resources, participate in activities, and discover the
benefits of a library card.
* Read a select number of books or
pages (requirements vary by age level) to complete the
challenge.
* Track your progress and earn your Girl Scout Read
and Roam fun patch!
This is a fantastic opportunity for Girl
Scouts to develop a love for reading, explore new libraries, and
engage with their communities. Grab your library card, pick up a great
book, and start your reading adventure! All Girl Scout levels are
welcome, from Daisies to Ambassadors! There is no cost to participate
in this patch program. Girl Scouts must visit participating libraries
across Southern Illinois. A list of libraries and details on how to
log your reading will be provided upon registration. Select the Read
and Roam Fun Patch add-on at checkout and order your patch from our
Council Shop for $3.50 when you register for this patch program. Read
and Roam fun patches must be ordered by November 9, 2026.
Leaders & Caregivers: At the start of the patch
program, the activity packet will also be accessible through your MyGS
Account. Go to My Events and select the event. Scroll to the bottom of
the page to find the activity packet under Additional Documentation.
Adults do not need to register.
Each local library participates
independently in the Southern Illinois Library Crawl. For more
