Get ready for takeoff! Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors
are invited to a special "Takeoff Event" for the
Adopt-a-Pilot Patch at St. Louis Regional Airport in East Alton,
Illinois, on June 20, 2026, from 1:00-3:00 PM. This hands-on aviation
experience is designed specifically for Girl Scouts participating in
the Adopt-a-Pilot Patch Program. Girls will fly higher into aviation
by exploring what it takes to be a pilot.

will rotate through interactive activity stations focused on:
This event provides a unique opportunity to connect the
Adopt-a-Pilot Patch Program to learning different aspects of aviation
before the Mount Vernon finish celebration on June 27th. The Takeoff
Event is free, but advance registration is required for all Girl
Scouts and attending adult volunteers to ensure adequate materials and
safety coordination at the airport facility.
Safety
Activity Checkpoint Ratios: This event is open to troops and Juliettes
with a guardian. This is NOT A DROP-OFF EVENT. Adults
are required to remain with their Girl Scouts. As required by
Volunteer Essentials and Safety Activity Checkpoints, adults attending
this event are responsible for their troop or individual Girl Scouts
& behavior. During non-drop-off Girl Scout events, adults
attending the event are responsible for the safety and well-being of
the youth who are in their care during the event. Do not leave your
Girl Scouts in the care of other adults at the event who are not part
of your troop or directly related to the child. All adults
participating with a troop or registered to volunteer at the event are
required to have a current/eligible background check (CBC) and to be a
registered Girl Scout adult volunteer.

A patch is not included with this event; registrants are encourages
to purchase the Adopt-a-Pilot fun patch instead.
