Join us July 3-5, 2026, for a new opportunity for Girl Scouts this summer at Camp Torqua! Family Weekends: Training N' More will offer a unique experience for Girl Scouts and Girl Scout volunteers to come to camp together, enjoy what camp has to offer, make memories together, and leave with a Camping Out, First Aid, or Archery Certification!
Girl Scout family campers will cook dinner together each night over the campfire, take a night hike around camp, enjoy archery, gaga ball, and more! Summer Camp staff will provide crafts and badge activities for girls on Saturday while leaders can get certified in their choice of Archery, First Aid/CPR, or Camping Out!
Families will check in on Friday at 5pm to settle into their tents or climate-controlled cabins. Families will eat dinner together, enjoy a hike, and an interactive movie under the stars before bedtime. The fun continues on Saturday with badge activities and training in the morning, an afternoon of family games, activities, arts and crafts, and a campfire dinner (weather permitting). We'll finish the campout with skits, songs, and s'mores around the campfire. Check out Sunday at 9 am.
Family registration costs of $50 per person include meals, lodging, activities, and certifications or badges. All adults participating with their Girl Scouts are required to have a current/eligible background check and to be a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer.
Volunteers needed for Family Weekends! Adult volunteers who are willing to give time at Family Camp and volunteer to run an activity can earn $50 back on one family's paid registration fees.
**Important Information: There will be a mandatory Parent and Camper Virtual Meeting for all family campers on Thursday, May 21st, at 6:30 PM to discuss packing requirements and what to expect at an overnight family camp experience. This meeting will cover essential information to ensure you and your Girl Scouts are prepared and ready for this outdoor adventure!**
Cost: $50 per person. Please select either a cabin session or a tent session. Tagalongs are permitted and must register to attend; please select the "Family Guest" option to register a Tagalong. A patch is provided with this event.
