This summer, Girl Scouts are stepping up to support our furry friends
through our "Girl Scouts Lend a Paw" Summer Service Patch
Program!
Throughout the summer months, Girl Scouts will collect
much-needed items for local animal shelters, including pet food, toys,
and supplies for both animals and the shelter itself. Girl Scouts can
also get crafty with DIY projects for the animal shelter.
Each
participating shelter has its own unique wish list, so we encourage
troops and individual Girl Scouts to choose a shelter at the start of
the program and tailor their donation efforts to that shelter's needs.
A list of local shelters, as well as their wish list and their DIY
donation requests and guidelines, will be sent out to registered
participants at the beginning of the patch program, and can be found
in myGS throughout the duration of the patch program. The program
culminates with a "Girl Scouts Lend a Paw Day" where Girl
Scouts will join together at the shelter to present their donations in
person and participate in hands-on service projects, as determined by
the shelter. Girl Scouts will register for this day as a separate
event on the Girl Scout event calendar. These dates and locations will
also be released at the beginning of the patch program.
This is
a fantastic opportunity for Girl Scouts to show compassion, make a
direct impact in their communities, and earn a special service patch
while doing it! There is no cost for this program.
Pre-order the patch only from our Council Shop by August
10th, 2026.
Let's Lend a Paw and make this summer one of service and
kindness for our furry friends!
