Gear up for a 3-Day, 2-Night Overnight High Adventure on the
beautiful Meramec River! In partnership with Earth's Classroom, we
invite you to canoe through a living classroom, discover the river's
ecology and history, and create lasting memories under the summer
sky.
This multi-day expedition is designed to be a deeply
educational and challenging High Adventure experience. We aren't just
canoeing; we're using our canoes to explore the many facets of the
Meramec River ecosystem. Earth's Classroom experienced Outdoor
Educators will guide you as you learn about river safety, the art of
canoeing, riparian habitats, and the interrelationships between
geology, ecology, and cultural history. Be prepared to journal your
observations! We ask participants to bring a notepad and colored
pencils. The journey will conclude with a sense of accomplishment and
a deeper connection to the natural world around us. Participating Girl
Scouts will receive a patch for this event!
A mandatory
informational Zoom meeting will be held on Monday, June 8th at 7:00
PM to meet the guides, review the packing list, and answer all your questions.
The price per Girl Scout is $275.
Back-Up Weather Plan:
In case of severe inclement weather (flooding or severe tornado
warnings) on the start date, the trip will slide to the back-up dates
of June 24th-26th. If that is not possible, a full reimbursement will
be issued.
Please note: Participants are
responsible for bringing specific required gear. A detailed packing
list will be provided and discussed at the mandatory Zoom meeting.
