Join us for an unforgettable two-night primitive camping adventure planned and led by the Older Girl Advisory Board! This unique outdoor experience gives Girl Scouts the chance to try BOTH hammock camping and traditional tent camping in a supportive, adventurous setting.
New to hammock camping? No worries, we've got you covered! Here's how it will work:
- Night One: Half will hammock camp while the other half tent camps
- Night Two: Campers will switch, so everyone experiences a full night in a
hammock if they choose
All hammock camping gear will be provided, including hammocks, bug nets, and tarps. For tent camping, Girl Scouts may bring their own tent or choose to borrow one of ours.
Throughout the weekend, girls will dive into survival-style, hands-on activities designed and coordinated entirely by the Older Girl Advisory Board. Activities include learning how to build an outdoor shelter, identifying animal tracks, exploring local plant and animal species, archery, hiking, outdoor cooking, crafts, a hayride, and even an outdoor movie night on a projection screen. Participants will also complete one fun match patch activity during the event. This experience is all about building confidence, outdoor skills, and teamwork while having fun and trying something new in the great outdoors.
What's Included:
Two nights of outdoor primitive camping, all hammock camping gear, access to a tent if Girl Scouts are unable to bring their own, all planned activities and programs, all meals within the scheduled event, and an Older Girl Advisory Board designed patch for the event.
