Join us for the Great GSofSI Dash (Chester, IL)! You know the TV show where people travel the world by finding clues and completing challenges? We're bringing that idea to Southern Illinois and making it Girl Scout style. Grab your team, follow the map, solve clues, complete Girl Scout skills, decipher puzzles, and more!
The Dash will begin at a central location in Chester, IL that will
be disclosed when registration closes. There, we will have an opening
ceremony and then the race will begin - see you at the finish
line!
MORE ABOUT THIS EVENT: During this event,
team challenges will be based on Girl Scout level, so be sure to study
up on those Girl Scout skills! Girl Scout facts, puzzle games, knot
tying, team building, design challenges and more.
THIS
EVENT INCLUDES: A snack, team goodie bags, team logo wear,
and GSofSI fun patch. Please plan accordingly with your team.
TROOP LEADERS, PARENTS & CAREGIVERS: IMPORTANT:
This is a WALKING- style scavenger hunt throughout the city of
Chester, IL. This event includes following a map and walking to
different locations where clues take you. Girl Scouts must have troop
leaders or registered family adults supervising the team at all times
during the event. Troop Leaders: if you are registering your troop,
please follow ratios of 2 unrelated adult volunteers for
events/travel. All Girl Scouts must be of the appropriate age and
registered members in order to attend.
This is NOT A DROP OFF
EVENT. Adults are required to remain with their Girl Scouts. As
required by Volunteer Essentials and Safety Activity Checkpoints,
adults attending this event are responsible for their troop or
individual Girl Scout behavior. During non-drop off Girl Scout events,
adults attending the event are responsible for the safety and
well-being of the youth that are in their care during the event. Do
not leave your Girl Scouts in the care of other adults at the event
that are not part of your troop or directly related to the
child.
REGISRATION | TEAM REGISTRATION: If
possible, please register your team all together. Be sure to list your
team mates and team name (if ready) in the buddy section of
registration. When registering, in the Buddy Information are, please
put your team name in the FIRST NAME box and first/last name of the
team member in the LAST NAME box. No more than 8 per team (2 Adults, 6
Girl Scouts).
