Join us for a fun-filled outdoor adventure designed especially for
Girl Scouts! We'll begin our day at 10:00 a.m. at Devil's Prop Nature
Preserve, where girls will enjoy a nature hike exploring the
preserve's unique landscape, including fascinating cave formations and
natural features. Girls will begin working on their Outdoor Art badges
throughout the hike. After completing the hike, participants are
welcome to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy together at the preserve
before we head to our next destination. Following lunch, we'll visit
the Cedarhurst Sculpture Garden for a relaxing and inspiring hike
through the gardens, where art and nature come together along scenic
walking paths. Girls will take the final steps to completing their
Outdoor Art badges at this beautiful location. Girl cost is $5
includes the Outdoor Art badge.
This day is a wonderful
opportunity for girls to explore the outdoors, learn about nature, and
enjoy time together in two beautiful Southern Illinois destinations.
Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, dress for the weather and
bring water and a picnic lunch.
This is NOT A DROP OFF
EVENT. Adults are required to remain with their Girl Scouts.
As required by Volunteer Essentials and Safety Activity Checkpoints,
adults attending this event are responsible for their troop or
individual Girl Scouts behavior. During non-drop off Girl Scout
events, adults attending the event are responsible for the safety and
well-being of the youth that are in their care during the event. Do
not leave your Girl Scouts in the care of other adults at the event
that are not part of your troop or directly related to the
child. All adults participating with a troop or registered to
volunteer at the event are required to have a current/eligible
background check (CBC) and to be a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer.
