Remembering Mary Griggs, CEO of Girl Scouts of River Bluffs Council
Hello family and friends of Mary Griggs,
I am Loretta Graham the very proud CEO of the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois. I am sad to share news of the passing of legacy council CEO Mary Griggs.
As we celebrate Mary Griggs’ life and as we reminisce about her journey, it is evident that her existence on this earth was nothing short of a magnificent symphony. Each moment was a beautiful note contributing to the harmony of her life.
Let us never forget the laughter, joy, and the countless moments of happiness she brought into the lives of those who knew her, and to all of those with Girl Scouts of River Bluffs Council.
I am sure Mary’s kindness was a beacon - a light that guided the council. People tell me that she believed in the value of unity, of coming together as a community to support and uplift the mission of Girl Scouts. They reflected on her warm smile, kind eyes, and gentle spirit as a refuge for many, a place where you could find comfort, love, and understanding.
There is a saying that goes, "The greatest among you shall be your servant.” Let us take a moment and think about what we can do each day to be a servant to others. Before we begin each day, let’s ask ourselves, “How will I serve today?”
Mary’s journey on this earth may have come to an end, but her spirit will always be in our hearts. Her legacy is a beautiful tapestry of love, joy, and beautiful moments, a tapestry that will be cherished forever. God Bless.
