Nestled on the fringe of Edwardsville, Camp Torqua offers 72 acres of meadows, rolling hills, and woodland that feels like a secret retreat. While close to town and major interstates, the camp is easy to get to, but also a private refuge for outdoor relaxation and recreation!
2. Camp Torqua is comfortable.
Air-conditioned cabins. Flush toilets. Warm showers. These amenities add an agreeable, homey quality to the experience of staying at camp for a week. We even have a brand-new nurse's station because girls’ health and safety is always our top priority.
3. Camp Torqua is home to a hoppin' frog pond!
Renovated in 2024, the frog pond at Camp Torqua continues to be a source of delight! A grant from American Water Foundation allowed us to create an outdoor classroom for campers to learn about local aquatic life such as frogs, crayfish, dragonflies, and more. Plus, there's an awesome water fountain that both adds to the area's natural beauty and aerates the water.
4. Camp Torqua is the place to hang out with friends
Gold Award Girl Scout Abby Siegel wanted to give campers a place to relax and relate to one another. She installed the Happy Hammock Village at Camp Torqua for cozy chats, chill vibes, and kicking back in the fresh air.
5. Camp Torqua is SO much fun!
Camp Torqua is convenient and modern, while still filled with classic camp charm. There are trails to hike, plenty of space for play and games, plus lots of local wildlife to watch. Girls can take aim at the archery range, sing along around the campfire, or enjoy a crowd-favorite game of gaga ball. Whether it’s gazing at the stars or raising the stars and stripes up the flagpole – campers will get to enjoy many timeless camp traditions.
