Congratulations to Janice Monroe from Neoga! She is being recognized with Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois' Volunteer Spotlight Award for her service with Service Unit 521 Western Coles / Cumberland County.
Volunteer Spotlight Awards celebrate volunteers who are honored by their peers for living the Girl Scout Law. Here is why Janice is being recognized as a shining example of a great volunteer:
"Janice is an amazing volunteer. Despite having a very busy career and being a mom to five and a grandma to one, she also heads up a local non-profit and sits on two Girl Scout committees.
Janice is a shining example of the Girl Scout spirt. When she stepped into the role of co-leader six years ago, I don't think she ever imaged she would be helping lead over 45 girls. I would not be able to lead our troop without her. Where I am strong at planning meetings and engaging the girls in fun activities, I fall short when it comes to organization and paperwork. That is where Janice steps in. She keeps track of it all and so much more. Not only is she my co-leader she is a great friend."
