Congratulations to Carrie Davitz from Belleville! She is being recognized with Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois' Volunteer Spotlight Award for her service with Service Unit 207 Belleville/Swansea!
Volunteer Spotlight Awards celebrate volunteers who are honored by their peers for living the Girl Scout Law. Here is why Carrie is being recognized as a shining example of a great volunteer:
"Carrie Davitz is an amazing Girl Scout Adult Volunteer. I have had the pleasure of working with her for many years as a troop leader. She is currently a vital part of our service unit team. Not only does she do the social media part for our team, but she took on the the Fall Product Program for our troops the past few years.
She is so organized, caring and easy to work. She goes out of her way to help anyone that needs help. I am nominating Carrie for this award for her character and values to Girl Scouts. She always goes above the call of action when needed. Service Unit 207 needed help with our Facebook account. She took action. Service Unit 207 needed help with nut and candy, and again she took action.
She is truly our "Shining Star" to our troops and I hope this Spotlight Award helps show our appreciation for her dedication. Carrie is not only a serivce unit volunteer. She started helping the council train adults in CPR this past year, too. I am happy to call her a friend as well. Her dedication to Girl Scout values and Mission is outstanding. I can't thank her enough!"
