Congratulations to Cassy Buatte from O'Fallon! She is being recognized with Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois' Volunteer Spotlight Award for her service with Service Unit 201 O'Fallon/Shiloh.
Volunteer Spotlight Awards celebrate volunteers who are honored by their peers for living the Girl Scout Law. Here is why Cassy is being recognized as a shining example of a great volunteer:
"Cassy is a fantastic Girl Scout leader, dedicated to providing the most welcoming environment to all participants. She volunteered to be the Daisy Unit leader for Service Unit 201’s "mini" Day Camp, taking time off from work to do so.
Cassy is a volunteer that goes with the flow, she is very easygoing, and needs little direction. She embraced the "mini" camp schedule and activities with sincere enthusiasm and led the girls in her unit to completing both badges and the Outdoor Challenge. As a previous day camp volunteer, Cassy took the new venue in stride. As a Cadette Troop Leader volunteering for the Daisy level unit, Cassy brought an air of complete competence and confidence in working with this energetic age group. She was incredible in working with both campers and parents alike with needed accommodations and was a fantastic role model and example for the Program and Camp Aides to follow.
Cassy is a truly kind person and there is nothing she can't handle. Cassy embodies the spirit of a Girl Scout in all she does and is such a wonderful person!"
