Congratulations to Lisa Ryan from OFallon. She is being recognized with Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois' Volunteer Spotlight Award for her service with Service Unit 201 O'Fallon/Shiloh/Fairview Heights.
Volunteer Spotlight Awards celebrate volunteers who are honored by their peers for living the Girl Scout Law. Here is why Lisa is being recognized as a shining example of a great volunteer:
"There are several types of volunteer positions that Lisa fulfills; however, she could not be more deserving of the Girl Scout Volunteer Spotlight Award. Lisa is both a troop leader of Daisy troop 181 and co-leader for Brownie troop 116 at Holy Trinity in Fairview Heights.
She has listened to endless questions and wild ideas, and also keeps the focus while keeping the fun at troop meetings. She has been responsible for every role imaginable: the fall fundraising efforts, treasurer, and cookie manager, while simultaneously helping to organize the regular troop meetings and trips for BOTH troops! She has volunteered at the Girl Scout summer camps and stays in constant connection with the service unit leaders as well as the individual parents of both troops.
She has been the ideal collaborator by giving the space and encouragement necessary to introduce and follow through with new activities, as well as keeping track of anything a girl may have missed so that she could tell the Girl Scout’s parent what was necessary to complete the badge. To say she is organized is an understatement. Even with this many responsibilities, Lisa is able to multitask like a pro to keep track of multiple things at once. She has been the best mentor to guide and encourage. She commands attention and is well loved."
