Congratulations to Service Unit 522 Eastern Coles County for being named the April 2025 Standout Service Unit!
On April 15, Service Unit 522 was recognized by the Charleston City Council for their ongoing effort of planting trees around the city as part of the Girl Scout Tree Promise. In addition, on April 23, SU 522 was recognized by the local chapter of The Daughters of American Revolution for their efforts, as well. Also in April, the service unit came together to plant five more trees!
Since 2021, Girl Scouts have planted 31 trees in Charleston!

November 3, 2021: 3 trees at the Charleston Firehouse on Division Street
May 9, 2022: 3 trees at North Park
November 1, 2022: 4 trees on the bike path behind Jefferson Elementary
May 12, 2023: 3 trees on the bike path between 9th & 10th streets
October 24, 2023: 3 trees on the bike path between 10th & 11th streets
May 2, 2024: 5 trees near the bike path between 9th & 10th streets
November 7, 2024: 5 trees at Loxa Station (bike path stop)
April 23, 2025: 5 trees at Loxa Station (bike stop path)
