Congratulations to Service Unit 007 Bond/Fayette Counties for earning the Monthly Standout Service Unit Award for April!
On April 11, SU 007 hosted a 1950's style Sock Hop for a Cause at The Milkhouse in Greenville. Dressing for the era was encouraged and a local DJ playing 50's rock-n-roll for dancing and fun! Two local vendors offered food and drinks, and The Milkhouse's homemade ice cream available. There was also a silent auction.
The public was welcome to attend, with the cost of admissing being a donated item for the Bond County Crisis Nursery and Pregnancy Support Center. Donations collected included 33 packages of diapers, 55 packages of wipes, and assorted other items such as bottles, books, toiletries, toys, and blankets.
Not only did all who attended have a fun time, but the event also provided much needed supplies to two important organizations in our community! Jeanette Facer and Maggie Schmitz of Troop 8421 did an amazing job or organizing and coordinating the event!
