Girl Scouts of all levels are invited to create a one-of-a-kind furry friend at the Build-A-Bear Workshop, located at the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois shop in Glen Carbon!

Participants will select their favorite bear or furry friend and bring it to life with the help of our team. The experience includes a special Girl Scout-themed version of Build-A-Bear’s beloved heart ceremony.

Afterward, they can personalize their new friend with Girl Scout vests featuring troop numbers, fun outfits, cookie-themed gear, accessories, sounds, scents, and more. Then, host a beary fun bash in our party room! Be sure to bring your choice of food and beverages, party supplies, and activities to create a celebration that's just right!

This memorable experience is perfect for individual Girl Scouts, troop outings, or special occasions like birthdays and bridging ceremonies.

Awesome Adventure Package: $45 per guest

This package includes: 1 (one) bear or furry friend for each guest (up to $30), 1 (one) Girl Scout Uniform (up to $11), a fun patch, Cub Condo, and activity.

The Ultimate Experience: $60 per guest

This package includes: 1 (one) bear or furry friend for each guest (up to $30), 1 (one) Girl Scout Uniform (up to $11), 1 (one) footwear or clothing or accessory item (up to $10), a fun patch, a bear carrier (up to $8), and activity.

Does the Glen Carbon Shop offer a full-sized Build-A-Bear Workshop? toggle arrow

Our shop is not a full-size Build-A-Bear Workshop. We are a smaller, specialized workshop featuring Girl Scout-themed bears and accessories, along with a selection of everyday animals and adornments.

Who can come and Build-A-Bear? toggle arrow

Anyone! You don’t have to be a Girl Scout to make a new friend!

Can I Build-A-Bear without an appointment? toggle arrow

Yes! We will be happy to take walk-ins. To provide the best experience possible, we do recommend booking a party for 5 or more guests.

How much are your party packages and what is included? toggle arrow

We have two fun party packages available to groups of 5-20 participants.

Awesome Adventure Package: $45 per guest

This package includes: 1 (one) bear or furry friend for each guest (up to $30), 1 (one) Girl Scout Uniform (up to $11), a fun patch, Cub Condo, and activity.

The Ultimate Experience: $60 per guest

Can I reserve a time slot for my troop or group? toggle arrow

Yes! Please check our Build-A-Bear Party Reservation Form to secure your two-hour time slot. A non-refundable $50 deposit will be collected to secure your reservation. This deposit will be credited back to the event invoice total at the end of the party.

*Weekday reservations are available during regular shop hours. On select Saturdays (2nd & 4th) parties can be booked from 10:00a.m.-12:00p.m. and 1:00-3:00p.m.

Can I modify my reservation after it has been made? toggle arrow

Yes, you may make changes to your party reservation-including the date, time, package details and number of participants-up to three business days prior to the original reservation date. There is no additional fee for these modifications. While we will make every effort to accommodate your requested changes, please note that all adjustments are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

If I cancel my reservation, will the $50 deposit be refunded or credited to a future purchase? toggle arrow

No. However, Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois (GSofSI) reserves the right to cancel a reservation due to circumstances, like inclement weather, staffing conflicts, building availability or any other reasons which would make the event non-viable. If GSofSI cancels a reservation, the booking customer will be notified and offered a full refund. Transferring a credit toward a future purchase will not be permitted.

What can I bring to our Build-A-Bear Workshop event? toggle arrow

You are welcome to bring party supplies, including food and beverages, to your scheduled event. Decorations are encouraged too! A *private room with tables and chairs accommodating up to 8 individuals are available to use. Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois does not provide any party supplies or decorations.

*Parties of 9+ will be held in a separate space and accommodations will be made to provide as much privacy as possible.

Can we use a Build-A-Bear gift card at the shop? toggle arrow

Unfortunately, we are not authorized to accept Build-A-Bear gift cards.

Can we use Adventure Bucks for Build-A-Bear purchases? toggle arrow

Yes! We encourage it!
