Join Camp Ondessonk for a traditional coed camp experience and become prepared for everyday living. Units on one side of Lake Echon are designated for male campers and the other side for female campers. Overnight campouts and sleeping quarters are gender-specific, with boys and girls supervised by the appropriate gender of staff. The Coed Camp schedule includes horseback riding, archery, riflery, council, swimming, nature exploration, handicrafts, woodcrafts, canoeing/kayaking, campfires, an overnight campout, marathon, tug-of-war, and much more. Learn more about the camp's programs and activities on the website at www.ondessonk.com. Date and time of camp arrival: Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 12:00 - 3:00 pm. The camp will provide you with an internet link to sign up for a drop off appointment time two weeks prior to arrival. Any camper that arrives after 3:00 pm must contact the camp at 618-695-2489 x145 to coordinate a time of arrival. Date and time of camp departure: Saturday, July 6, 2024. Gates open at 8:30 am and there is an optional Parent Reception held in the Chapel at 9:00 am. Campers are available to check out at approximately 9:15 am and all campers must depart by 10:00 am. No appointment time is necessary. Registration deadline: Monday, June 17, 2024 or when 32 campers are registered. Ages accepted: Girls must be entering 5th grade in fall 2023 or 10 yrs old - 10th grade or through 15 years old. Camp: Session 5 Traditional Camp Dates: June 30-July 6 Capacity: 32 campers (Does not include chaperones. Chaperones do not register through my system.) Cost: $554 Unit: Goupil Instructions for parents: - Go to Ondessonk.com and click on the Register for Summer Camp button. - First time campers will need to create an account. Repeat campers will already have an account. Please do not create a new account if you already have one. Contact the office at 618-695-2489 x131 for your login information if you need it. - Once logged into your account, click on Register (New) next to your campers name - The system will ask you Are you registering as part of the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois group?. Click YES. - The GHR ID is GSOSI - Click the box next to Traditional 5 Coed. When the pricing options are displayed, select RATE A $694 and then click OK. (Note: A discount will be automatically applied). - Click the Save/Next button on the bottom right corner of your screen - Continue through the remainder of the registration pages - When done, you will need to make a $100 deposit payment per camper in order to secure your spot in Camp. Girl Scout Experience Fund is available for this camp. Be sure to have your troop leader apply no later than 6 weeks before camp, Thursday, May 16, 2024. Funds will be distributed after camp to the troop checking account. You will need to send copies of your payment receipt to Customer Care at customercare@gsofsi.org following the camp. Payment will not occur without this step.
