New Patch Program: Route 66 Passport
Our new Route 66 Passport Patch Program invites Girl Scouts to explore the historic "Mother Road" as it runs between St. Louis and Chicago! Girls may complete this passport individually, with a troop, or with their families. Then, order the patch from our Council Shop!
Last Chance to Sign up for Girl Scouts Take Over Waterparks in Effingham in Carbondale
Girl Scouts and their families are invited to splash, slide, and make summer memories together. We're taking over waterparks in Effingham and Carbondale! Act fast - the deadline to sign up is July 27!
GSofSI's Board of Directors has added Erin Barriger and Abigal Zajac as Members-At-Large, as well as ex-officio girl member Anna Kennedy.
“We are so grateful to have Erin, Abigail, and Anna join our Board,” said CEO Loretta Graham. “Their talents and commitment to service will help us fulfill our Mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.”
Congratulations to Elisabeth Preston from Edwardsville! She has been awarded a $5,000 scholarship from Girl Scouts of the USA for her remarkable Girl Scout Gold Award project.
Elisabeth learned that youth start to lose their connection to STEAM fields in their early teens. She took action to create an engaging STEAM lab at her former school, St. Ambrose in Godfrey, to help sustain interest in these fields that meant so much to her.
Summer Hours & Shop Inventory Our Council Shop will operate on summer hoursthrough July. Also, we are closed for inventory on July 27-30. Orders may be placed online at this time, but will not be processed until Monday, Aug. 3. We still will be open on Saturday, July 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
First Birthday CeleBEARation!
The Build-A-Bear Workshop in our Council Shop is turning ONE! Come celebrate with us on Saturday, Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be fun activities and snacks, as well as the opportunities for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors to earn badges. Participants do not need to be a Girl Scout to enjoy the party!
