Creating a flyer, parade banner, certificate, or poster for an event? Designing a t-shirt for your troop or service unit? Below are some resources to assist you in creating materials that stay on trend with our beloved Girl Scout brand.

After reviewing the guidelines, please submit your designs for approval via the links below. All designs that carry the Girl Scout brand must be submitted to council for approval.

Girl Scout Branding Guidelines

Please see below for guidelines on using the Girl Scout brand when creating flyers, parade banners, certificates, etc.

The Trefoil toggle arrow

The solid trefoil is appropriate for use on unofficial flyers and material – for example, service unit flyers or collateral, volunteer events, parade banners, cakes, etc. It has a few guidelines to follow:

Never use more than one Trefoil on the same application design (flyer, banner, etc.).
Never crop it.
Never rotate it.
Never use it as a pattern.
Never fill it with pattern or graphics.
Never fill it with photography.
Never add effects to it.
Never outline it.
Never create new lockups with it.
Never wrap text around it or lockup text close to it.
Never use it to replace a typographic character.
Never use it as bullet points.
Never place any text inside of it, including page numbers.

Note: One Trefoil can be use per surface area. For example, a spread in a booklet or workbook can feature a Trefoil on each page.

Please Note: The trefoil with faces is now considered a legacy mark. Legacy marks should be used exclusively for communicating about Girl Scout history or historical events. To stay current and on brand, please only utilize the solid trefoil.

The Servicemark toggle arrow

The GSofSI Servicemark and GSUSA Servicemark are both highly regulated: neither of them can be used on unofficial flyers such as service unit event flyers or collateral for any volunteer purposes, such as events, letterhead, patches, etc.

The GSofSI servicemark can only be used on official council documents and collateral created by the Marketing and Communications department.

Approved Font toggle arrow

The font to use in all materials and merchandise is Palatino Linotype.

Any type/text should only be in the color black or white. Also, never mix colors of fonts. Use only black OR white, and refer to the Girl Scout Color Palette to determine which color should be used according to the background color of the item.

When writing on behalf of the Girl Scout brand, think of each product as a canvas to express and fulfill our brand purpose: to champion girl ambition.

You can accomplish this by writing through the lens of our values and bringing them into existence through the products we create. Our values include self-expression, community, inclusion, integrity, and discovery.

By making every word count, we’ll earn love and loyalty and strengthen the relevancy and power of our brand for our valued audiences.

Merchandise may be purchased from non-licensed vendors when there are no resale or fee-based events involved. This merchandise is to be strictly used for gifts, displays, and awards.
